RiskEng industrial fire and risk engineering provide design and assessment in line with Australian and other standards to mitigate potential impacts from fire hazards, dangerous goods loss of containment threats and related work health and safety risks in relation to sea ports and industrial facilities. Our team members are accredited by NSW Department of Planning to undertake hazard analysis and fire safety studies for its three major Ports – Port Botany, Port Kembla and Newcastle. Additionally, our engineers have considerable experience in design and auditing in locations such as Darwin’s East Arm Port and Iron Ore Wharf facilities and New Guinea’s Lihir Island.

We have assisted numerous port operators and tenants with hazard related studies, including preliminary hazard analysis, fire safety studies, HAZOPs, emergency response planning, route selection analysis and development of oil spill contingency plans. We support our stevedoring clients through our capacity to undertake shipping containment risk management to allow new expansion/development required under typical planning legislation. We classify hazardous area installations for locations where flammable substances are stored and handled and have developed fire safety solutions for associated warehousing and administration facilities to minimise construction costs whilst achieving BCA compliance.

We have assisted numerous Major Hazard Facilities internationally by undertaking quantitative risk assessments, safety case studies and obtaining regulatory licences.

Our capability provides for fire-fighting infrastructure designed to adequately provide for the risk of fires at wharves, including fires at terminals and fuel fires associated with bunkering or fuel storage.
